Surviving Weekday

A busy mom’s checklist to survive a weekday.

As a busy working mom, organizing on the weekend with my meal prep, activities and syncing calendars with the rest of the family is the heavy lift. But these days week is a long time and a lot changes every weekday (that sudden work meeting, a sick child, a broken car) so it’s also important to do a quick revisit every evening for the next weekday so the small adjustments can go a long way for you and family.

In order to make it easy, I have a template below that I keep handy in one note and populate it over the weekends. Then every weekday, I just review it for the next few days to make sure all the boxes are still checked and adjustments can be made as needed.

I would recommend One Note or Notes so you can also share with spouse and family and can make it more collaborative as needed.

This table can also serve as meal prep over the weekend.

A sample for my family below, as you can tell we have a full busy week juggling classes and tasks but this schedule keeps us all on the same page. It doubles up as a weekly menu. My spouse and I pull out our calendars and prepare this every Friday which helps us to create grocery list, meal prep and schedule our tasks and fitness schedule accordingly.
